REFRAME - Decentralization of Electricity Systems - An Integrated Approach for Risk Assessment and Mitigation in the Energy Sector

REFRAME is a project in cooperation with Neoma Business School and the Laboratoire d'Économie de Dauphine (LEDa) at Université Paris Dauphine-PSL. The project addresses risks arising in a highly decentralised electricity system and risk mitigation measures taken by electricity producers, retailers, consumers and prosumers. In addition, it examines the feedback effects of the risk mitigation measures taken by the respective actors on the other groups respectively. Methodologically, the project combines results from surveys and discrete choice experiments with energy system models that represent various actors and scales of the electricity market. The research conducted by Ruhr University Bochum focuses on the resulting effects of the decisions made by the individual actors on market participants in wholesale markets.
